Information We Collect from Children
Kids Pray Too offers features that allow children to submit content, such as prayer requests for the Prayer Wall, participation in the Club, and photos for the Photo Gallery. We only collect personal information from children under 13 years of age when we have obtained verifiable parental consent, as required by COPPA.
The types of information we may collect from children, with verifiable parental consent, include:
- First Name: To identify their submissions on the Prayer Wall or in the Club.
- Prayer Requests: Content submitted by the child for the Prayer Wall.
- Club Activities: Information related to their participation in the Kids Pray Too Club.
- Photos: Images submitted for the Photo Gallery. (Note: A separate Photo Release form is required for photo submissions.)
We do not collect full names, addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses directly from children. We do not collect any more personal information than is reasonably necessary for a child to participate in the activities offered on our site.
How We Use Children's Information
The information we collect from children, with verifiable parental consent, is used solely for the purpose for which it was submitted:
- To display approved prayer requests on the Prayer Wall.
- To manage and facilitate participation in the Kids Pray Too Club.
- To display approved photos in the Photo Gallery.
- To personalize the child's experience on the site (e.g., showing their submitted content).
We do not use children's personal information for marketing purposes, nor do we share it with third parties for their marketing or promotional use.
Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC)
Before we collect, use, or disclose any personal information from your child under 13, we are required by COPPA to obtain your verifiable parental consent. We offer the following methods for obtaining consent:
- Email Confirmation: We will send an email to the parent's email address provided during the consent process. The parent must respond to this email to confirm their consent.
- Credit Card Verification: A small, non-refundable charge to a credit card can verify identity. This charge is typically less than $1.00 and is used solely for verification, not for sponsorship.
- Signed Consent Form: Parents may print, sign, and mail or scan and email a consent form back to us.
Without verifiable parental consent, your child's content will not be published, and their personal information will not be stored or used by Kids Pray Too.
Parental Rights: Review, Revoke Consent, and Delete Information
As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:
- Review the personal information we have collected from your child.
- Revoke your consent for the further collection, use, or disclosure of your child's personal information.
- Request the deletion of your child's personal information from our records.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address or postal address provided below. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity as the child's parent or legal guardian before granting access to or making changes to your child's information.
No Conditioning Participation
Your child's participation in any activity on the Kids Pray Too site, such as submitting a prayer request or joining the Club, is not conditioned on them providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for that activity.
Data Retention and Deletion Path
We retain personal information collected from children only for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law. Once the information is no longer needed, we will securely delete it from our records.
If you wish to have your child's information deleted at any time, please contact us at {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}. Upon receiving a verified request, we will promptly remove your child's personal information from our active databases.
